01
What the app collects
Most of it stays on your device. A small, non-identifying slice is used to keep the app working and to know what's actually being used. On-device:
- Your download history — file names, sizes, and status (in progress, finished, failed) — so the Progress and Finished screens have something to show you.
- Your browser tabs and recently visited sites, if you've left that setting on, purely so tabs survive closing the app.
- App preferences — download location, Wi-Fi-only toggle, ad-blocking setting, and similar — so the app remembers your choices between sessions.
Sent off-device, to Google's Firebase service, and never containing your name or any other way to identify you personally:
- Anonymous usage analytics — which screens get opened, and whether a download from a given kind of site (e.g. Instagram, TikTok) succeeded or failed. Used only to find bugs and see which parts of the app people actually use.
- A push-notification registration token — a random id your device generates so it can receive messages sent to it (see Permissions, below). It isn't tied to your name, email, or anything else about you.
02
What it never collects
The app has no account system, and nothing above identifies who you are. It does not collect, and has no mechanism to collect:
- Your name, email address, or phone number
- Your location
- Contacts, messages, or call history
- The content of pages you browse, beyond what's needed in the moment to find a downloadable file on the page you're currently viewing
03
Permissions it asks for
| Permission | What it's for |
|---|---|
| Storage / Media access | Saving a downloaded file to your chosen folder, and showing it in Progress/Finished afterward. |
| Network access | Loading the pages you browse to and fetching the files you choose to download. |
| Notifications | Showing messages sent to your device — app updates, feature announcements — if you allow it. |
Each of these is requested only when the feature that needs it is first used, and Android lets you revoke any of them at any time from your phone's own Settings → Apps.
04
The built-in browser
The in-app browser is a regular web view — visiting Instagram, Facebook, or any other site inside it is subject to that site's own privacy policy, not this one. Anything you log into, post, or search for on those sites is between you and them; this app doesn't see your credentials or intercept that traffic.
The one thing the app's own script does on a page is look for downloadable media — a video or image the page is already showing you — so the download button knows what to fetch. It doesn't read page content beyond that.
05
Downloads & local storage
A file you download is written straight to the folder you've chosen (or the default one), same as any other Android download manager. If you turn on Sync to gallery, finished media is also copied into your phone's own Photos/Gallery app — a local copy, not an upload.
The optional Private folder feature, protected by a PIN you set, keeps chosen files out of the regular Finished list. That PIN is stored only on your device and is never transmitted anywhere.
07
Security
Because your data stays on your device, its safety is largely tied to your device's own security — a screen lock, up-to-date Android security patches, and not sideloading modified copies of this app are the most effective protections. The Private folder's PIN adds a second layer for anything you specifically choose to hide from a casual look at the Finished list.
08
Children's privacy
This app isn't directed at children and doesn't knowingly collect information from anyone — which, as covered above, is true for every user regardless of age, since no personal information is collected at all.
09
Changes to this policy
If what the app does with data ever changes, this page changes first, with an updated date at the top. Continuing to use the app after an update means you've seen the current version.
